You, Thinking.

I posed on this ladder as the crowd came in.
Carefully. Disconnected. Closed. Beautifully.
Nearly reaching the ceiling.
Then I came down to a pile of earth, i disrobed, I bathed my head in gold, oil and the soil.
I spoke, I asked, I yelled, "What are you thinking?"
Imploring the audience to be honest.
Over and over. With jiggling nudity.

This is a performance about being one kind of self conscious
and then another kind of self conscious.
It is about confronting a gritty internal reality.
This desperate action was done in hopes to marry two incomplete selves,
to form a new more complete incomplete self.
The memory of this one bothers me some nights, when I'm trying to sleep.

You, Thinking. from Continuum PerformanceArt on Vimeo.

Please note: This video begins with remnants of a fantastic performance art piece by Emily Sloan. The screaming and clanging of people at the beginning come from her great piece that was a part of Lone Star Explosion 2014 and were not a part of You, Thinking.
